JAWBOX – The Revisionist EP is out now on limited 12″ vinyl

The comeback of the legendary Jawbox from Washington D.C. in 2019 was quite a sensation in independent music scene. After completing the Impartial Overview Tour in the U.S., during which the live 2xLP “Live At Metro Chicago 2019” was also recorded, guitarist Bill Barbot was unfortunately unable to continue his activities with Jawbox due to changes in life circumstances and consequently left the band. However, Jawbox quickly found an equally suitable and obvious successor: Brooks Harlan is not only known as a guitarist in the band War On Women, he is also part of J. Robbins’ solo band and was previously a member of his last band Office Of Future Plans. With this new lineup, Jawbox prepared for more live activities, including the legendary Primavera Sound festivals, where the band performed in 2022. During this process, the two sons “Grip” and “Consolation Prize” from the early days of the band were reworked, reinterpreted and unceremoniously re-recorded at The Magpie Cage studio, directed by J. Robbins. In addition, the band recorded a cover version of the song “Lowdown”, a cult classic by the band Wire. The “Revisionist EP” is Jawbox’s first studio effort since 1996, and on the flip side of this one-sided 12″, a beautiful etching supports the visual concept of this release. This is a pressing of 1000 copies worldwirde. 100 copies are pressed on transparent green vinyl and are exclusively available from our Arctic Rodeo webstore. 200 copies come on transparent blue vinyl, 200 copies on transparent red vinyl, and 500 copies are pressed on available on crystal clear vinyl.
