Our next album release has been unleashed today: SECOND LETTER put out their debut album on Arctic Rodeo, which totally thrills us.
You might not have heard of this band so far, but we are sure you are familiar with the background of Rob Haworth and some of his bandmates. In the 90s, Haworth started hardcore bands such as INSIDE OUT and HARD STANCE – both together with is friend Zach de la Rocha who – as we all know – ended up singing in RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. Furthermore, Haworth gave birth to FARSIDE and the amazing STATE OF THE NATION. For the debut album of his new band SECOND LETTER, Peter Moffett (WOOL, BURNING AIRLINES, GOVERNMENT ISSUE) took place on the drum seat, and Jim Kimball (RETISONIC, J MAJESTY) played bass guitar.
The band’s debut album “Cicatrix” is not a hardcore record though. It brings you super relaxed, melodic rock music, located somewhere between punk, indierock and alternative country. Fans of SOCIAL DISTORTION, CHAMBERLAIN or SAMIAM should definiftely have a listen.
The album artwork has been created by John Yates, known for his beautiful artworks for many great bands such as BAD RELIGION, DEAD KENNEDYS, ALKALINE TRIO, JAWBRAKER, REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY, TOMAHAWK, THE PROMISE RING, ANTI FLAG, and LIFETIME.
The US magazine No Echo did an exclusive song premiere of the album opneing track “Anything” a while ago, please feel free to visit the feature by going here. Another album track called “Painted Pictures” is now exclusively premiering at visions.de and can be checked out here. For more album songs, please head over to SECOND LETTER’s bandcamp page.
