Living in Los Angeles, Arlie Carstens (formerly of Seattle post-punk band Juno) formerly started recording his first ideas in the 2000s and started GHOST WARS, the band which should subsequently be renamed to ATOMS AND VOID, together with his old friend Eric Fisher who is working as a music producer in Seattle. Thereafter, whenever time allowed, the two began recording songs onto 4-tracks, answering machines, micro-cassette recorders, laptops and iPhones. They recorded in cramped apartments, empty houses and tiny rehearsal spaces in Los Angeles and many other places...for years. Eventually Fisher and Carstens began integrating a slowly evolving cast of additional instrumentalists and audio engineers to help bring their compositions to life, including members of Sunny Day Real Estate, Foo Fighters, Juno, Lieutenant, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Minus the Bear, Blood Brothers, Fleet Foxes, Cave Singers, Sufjan Stevens, Treepeople, Built To Spill, The Fire Theft, Jeremy Enigk, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Melvins, Big Business, Damien Jurado and many others. The band’s debut album And Nothing Else is now up for pre-order on limited colored vinyl + MP3 + insert. The standard LP is pressed on pink vinyl, our limited ZUM HEIMATHAFEN ART SERIES, which includes the LP on exclusive green/clear/black vinyl and an exclusive silkscreen art designed, hand printed, hand numbered and signed by the artist, is limited to 100 copies. Release date is May 20.
