Some of you might have heard of REUBENS ACCOMPLICE, and a few of you might already know that they have a new album out in the USA entitled “Sons Of Men” which has been self released by the band in 2012 – and which has not been available in Europe at all so far. Which is actually hard to believe. Because this band is and always has been incredible.
Their previous album “The Bull, the Balloon, and the Family” had been released back in 2004 on Western Tread Recordings, the label run by Jim Adkins from Jimmy Eat World. Adkins also took part in producing the record and played on it as well. Further guests had been members of The Promise Ring, Calexico and Giant Sand. “The Bull, the Balloon, and the Family” received excellent reviews all over the world, and was featured as the “Album Of The Month” in Visions Magazine in Germany. The band toured in Germany opening up for with Olli Schulz, and furthermore, REUBENS ACCOMPLICE have been on the road with bands such as Karate, Maritime, Pedro The Lion, The Promise Ring, The Weakerthans and Jimmy Eat World of course.
How can it happen that REUBENS ACCOMPLICE release a new record that most of the people don’t even know about? A record produced by 3-time Grammy Award Winner Chris Testa? An album featuring a 14 piece orchestra arranged by John O’Reilly Jr.? A record incuding guest appearances from Davey Von Bohlen (Cap’n Jazz, The Promise Ring, Maritime, Vermont) and Jon Rauhouse (Neko Case, Giant Sand, Calexico)? We don’t know. But it’s definitely a situation we want to do something about. We are late, but this album needs to be heard – better late than never. Because “Sons Of Men” is an amazing piece of music you should not miss.
“Sons Of Men” from REUBENS ACCOMPLICE will be released Jan 24th on LP only – on 180g white vinyl. Free download will be included. The mp3 download voucher will give you access to download all 10 songs from the album + 10 demo tracks + 10 unreleased tracks. A pretty massive package of music you should definitely call your own.
